A most enjoyable day’s golf blessed with warm sunshine, played on a course in its best condition of the year. The event was well supported with a total of 46 players competing for a number of prizes, both gross and net. The round was followed by a carvery which was thoroughly enjoyed after a close competition.

A magnificent round of Net 66 saw George Overton edge out Doug King (Net 67) as the Net winner to lift the COB's Trophy. In third place was Alan Biddle on Count Back with Terry McCusker finishing 4th both shooting Net 68. When it came to the Gross score both Alan Biddle and Doug King were in the prizes again. Doug King shooting Gross 81 but unfortunately the bridesmaid again with Alan Biddle shooting Gross 80.

Prizes for nearest the pin were won by Ray Rudland on the 4th Hole with Doug King winning the 14th Hole (A good day’s work for Doug). There were also straightest drives with Alan Biddle again a winner on the 3rd Hole and Alan Oldfield on the 13th Hole (Sky Sports Sources reveal Alan Oldfield’s ball finished on the line!!)

Thank you to all who participated in the event as a player, sponsor and volunteer. We look forward to Georges defence next year.
